Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the telephone conversation between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried

On September 5, 2022, a telephone conversation took place between the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried.

The sides exchanged views on the regional situation, including efforts to normalize relations and bilateral agenda.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov referred to the meeting held in Brussels on August 31, 2022 between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the European Council Charles Michel and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and expressed Azerbaijan's readiness on implementation of instructions given to the Foreign Ministers to prepare draft texts of the peace treaty. Foreign Minister also brought to the attention of the other side that Azerbaijan has taken consistent steps to advance the peace agenda.

The sides exchanged views on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest. An agreement was expressed to continue bilateral contact.
